The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) diocese of Butere diaspora clergy have come together to establish a fellowship program aimed at collaborating with resident members of the clergy in spreading the gospel of Christ.
Led by the Very Rev. Capt. Kennedy Akhongo, the clergy have committed to supporting various activities within the diocese, particularly in the realm of gospel ministry. They have also pledged to assist in the implementation of the Diocesan strategic plan, with the goal of increasing church membership and actively engaging in resource mobilization efforts.
Following a meeting with Bishop Rose Okeno on Friday morning at the Reading Conference Room, AICMAR in Butere, Rev. Capt. Akhongo expressed the clergy’s dedication to participating in Diocesan Thanksgiving services and contributing to resource mobilization initiatives. This sentiment was echoed by Mulwanda Archdeacon Ven. Canon Peter Andere, who emphasized the diaspora clergy’s willingness to engage in these activities.

Bishop Rose Okeno warmly welcomed the clergy’s commitment and highlighted the importance of unity, fellowship, and reciprocal visits in strengthening bonds and deepening relationships within the church community. She encouraged the clergy to work together towards a shared faith and mission.
Other diaspora clergy members present were Rev. Boaz Abuko Akoya, Rev. George Macharia, Ven. Jacob Mbunjiro, Rev. Alfred Burudi, Rev. Augustine Nandwa and Rev. Brian Misiko.
