Mediation graduates pause for a photo after their graduation ceremony at Aicmar.
Two esteemed members of the clergy within the diocese have successfully completed a mediation training course, alongside six other graduands. The Diocesan Administrative Secretary, Reverend Canon Silas Hopillo, and Reverend Captain Florence Aseka are now certified professional mediators following their participation in the five-day training program at the African Institute for Contemporary Mission and Research (AICMAR).
The primary objective of this training initiative is to address and mitigate the prevalent conflict cases within the community. In an interview with GG TV, Reverend Captain Florence Aseka expressed her motivation for enrolling in the mediation course, emphasizing its value as an enhancement to her clerical duties. She encouraged fellow clergy members to consider taking advantage of similar training opportunities.

Among the other graduates of the mediation program are Juliet Isanda, the personal assistant to the Diocesan Bishop, Hellen Atenya, Principal of Shinamwenyuli Secondary School, and Anne Apindi, Principal of Mabole Comprehensive School, among others.
This training program was made possible through a collaborative effort between the ACK Diocese of Butere, AICMAR, and the Selina Peace Centre.
