The clergy from the Anglican Church of Tanzania diocese of Mara have arrived safely in the Anglican Church of Kenya diocese of Butere. Led by their diocesan bishop, the Rt. Rev. George Okoth, the Mara clergy were warmly welcomed by their host, The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno, upon their arrival in Butere on Thursday evening after a lengthy nine-hour road journey.

Bishop Rose, along with her clergy members, greeted their Tanzanian counterparts with a joint prayer service at the ACK St. Luke’s Cathedral before each vicar was paired with their twinned partner and sent to their respective parishes.

Bishop Okoth is leading a delegation of over 80 members who will be assigned to different parishes in the diocese of Butere for a pastoral mission and to exchange best practices.

He is scheduled to lead a joint diocesan Mothers’ Union and KAMA rally at St. Stephen’s Inaya on Saturday, followed by a Thanksgiving Sunday service at Butere Girls High School this weekend.

Bishop Rose emphasized that the visit from the Tanzanian clergy is a blessing to the ministry of God.
