The Administrative Secretary of the ACK Diocese of Butere, Reverend Canon Silas Hopillo, has urged the Member of Parliament for Butere, Tindi Mwale, to continue supporting children from disadvantaged families by assisting them with their school fees through the NG-CDF fund. Canon Hopillo emphasized that many children are unable to pursue their education due to financial constraints.
These remarks were made during the commissioning and dedication ceremony of a two-storey building at ACK St. Mathews Ituti Secondary School in Butere sub-county. Drawing inspiration from the book of Matthew, chapter 9, verse 34, Canon Hopillo, standing in for the Diocesan Bishop Rose Okeno who is on sabbatical leave, encouraged the MP to continue serving the community for the betterment of all, which is considered service to God.
The newly commissioned building will house classrooms, a laboratory, the principal’s office, and a teachers’ staffroom. Principal Edwin Amariati expressed gratitude for the support from the MP’s office, noting that the new building will alleviate overcrowding in some classrooms. He also mentioned plans to acquire additional land and a school bus to facilitate student transportation during important events.
Mr. Amariati further acknowledged the spiritual and pastoral support provided by the ACK church, pledging to collaborate closely with the church to serve the community effectively. Apart from the large crowds of people from Ituti locality, the ACK church led-event was also attended by Buchenya Archdeacon Ven Daniel Inyangala and Ituti Parish Vicar Reverend Tabitha Ongoma among others.
