Bishop Rose Okeno has joined other leaders in Kenya in condemning the recent cases of abduction in the country. She expressed concern over the government’s failure to protect the lives of Kenyans, despite their promises to uphold the constitution.
During a parish vicarage dedication and Holy Communion service at ACK St. Anne’s Bukwala on Sunday, January 5, 2025, Rt. Rev. Okeno urged Christians to remain faithful and prayerful, seeking God’s protection. She criticized politicians who suggested that some individuals had abducted themselves.
Elsie Muhanda, the woman member of parliament for Kakamega County, commended Bishop Okeno for her dedication to God’s ministry and encouraged church members to support her work. Muhanda generously donated a one-hundred-seater tent to the church to facilitate gospel activities.
At the service, more than twenty individuals accepted Jesus as their savior, inspired by Bishop Okeno’s message of servitude and devotion to the Bible. Former Khwisero constituency member of parliament, Hon. Julius Arunga, who was among the converts, proposed that the church engage in income-generating activities to support God’s ministry, rather than solely relying on traditional offerings.
In conclusion, Bishop Okeno’s call for faithfulness, prayer, and service resonated with the congregation, as they united in their commitment to God’s work and the betterment of their community.
