Bishop Rose Okeno has emphasized the importance of building strong foundations of faith in Sunday School children within the children’s ministry.
She believes instilling these strong foundations will help children develop a personal and meaningful relationship with God.
Bishop Okeno also stressed the significance of Sunday school teachers serving as positive role models for children, as they play a crucial role in shaping young minds and influencing the community.
During the Holy Communion service, Bishop Okeno officially opened the ACK Diocese of Butere children’s ministry conference on Thursday, December 5, 2024.
Drawing inspiration from Acts of the Apostles chapter 10:2, she urged children’s ministry teachers to embody the qualities of role models to nurture wholesome children.
The conference, which commenced on December 5, 2024, will conclude on December 7, 2024. The Diocesan children’s ministry coordinator, Rev. Jane Orembe, echoed Bishop Okeno’s sentiments and urged all church parishes to send their Sunday School teachers to the conference to gain valuable insights and knowledge.
The theme of this year’s conference, based on Acts 10:2, is “Wholesome parenting for a wholesome society. ” Bishop Okeno and Rev. Orembe hope the conference will equip Sunday School teachers with the tools and inspiration needed to positively impact the lives of young souls in their care.
