The Anglican Church of Kenya (ACK) Diocese of Butere, under Bishop Rose Okeno’s leadership, calls upon faithful Christians to remain vigilant and not be swayed by false teachings that may lead them astray from their faith.
Bishop Okeno emphasized the importance of standing firm in the face of false prophets, as warned in the Bible, who seek to lead believers away from the path of God. During her sermon at St. Anne’s Elwanyengo church in Khwisero sub-county on Sunday, November 17, 2024, Bishop Okeno drew from the book of Mark 13: 1-8 to urge Christians to continue spreading the gospel despite the challenges they may encounter.
Addressing a congregation of over 300 congregants from the Parishes of Emako and Eshiunya, Bishop Okeno encouraged them to remain steadfast in their service to the Lord, promising that their dedication will be rewarded with a fulfilling life in Christ.
Expressing gratitude for the congregants’ commitment shown during the Thanksgiving service, Bishop Okeno assured them that the funds collected will be utilized for church projects that will benefit the diocese and serve as investments for the church’s future.
Furthermore, Bishop Okeno took the opportunity during the Sunday service to officially consecrate the church and inaugurate its gates, aligning with the Diocesan vision of proclaiming, renewing, and discipling the faithful.
