The atmosphere at ACK St. Teresa’s Church in Eshikangu, Butere sub-county, was filled with grandeur and vibrancy as congregants gathered to warmly welcome Bishop Rose Okeno during their official church opening service.
Led by their Lunza Parish vicar, Reverend Daniel Andabwa, the enthusiastic congregation expressed their joy and gratitude for reaching this significant milestone in establishing their place of worship.
Reverend Andabwa extended his heartfelt thanks to Bishop Okeno for her unwavering dedication to spreading the message of Christ through preaching, renewal, and discipleship.
In turn, Bishop Okeno commended the congregants for their hard work in constructing the worship sanctuary, urging them to embody the spirit of the building within their own hearts and to seek God’s guidance in all their endeavors.
During her visit, Bishop Okeno also conducted a confirmation service at the church, encouraging the members to continue to strengthen their faith in Christ.
She emphasized the importance of building upon a solid foundation of faith. She urged the church leadership to support and guide the confirmed members in remaining steadfast in their commitment to the Anglican liturgy.
In her sermon with the theme “God of a Second Chance,” the bishop noted that God never gives up on His people until He accomplishes His mission, provided His people obey and faithfully share His message. Her powerful message led 16 people to give their lives to God.
