Bishop Rose Okeno has offered valuable advice to this year’s candidates in the national exams, urging them to allow God to guide them as they prepare to sit for the exams. Rt. Rev. Okeno said, entrusting their journey to God will create a peaceful environment for them to confidently face their exams and achieve success.
During her sermon at the dedication service for the 2024 candidates of Butere Girls High School, the Bishop’s message, drawn from Exodus 33: 1-19, “When God leads the way,” she noted that God will not lead you into something that you are not prepared for. “When He leads the way, we experience rest, we will be distinguishable, we will be known, we will experience His goodness, and we will be sure of victory,” she explained.
Bishop Okeno took the opportunity to commend both the teachers and students for their dedication throughout the four-year academic journey, despite facing some challenges. She expressed optimism that the school will produce commendable results.
A total of 699 candidates were dedicated during the service, all aiming to achieve a mean grade of 9.5 in the upcoming KCSE exams. Bishop Okeno also highlighted the strong relationship between Butere Girls High School and their sponsor, the ACK Diocese of Butere, as she extended her best wishes to the candidates.
Principal Mrs. Jenipher Omondi shared her optimism about this year’s fourth-form class, which is the largest in the school’s history. She expressed confidence in their abilities to excel in the exams.
In adherence to education guidelines during the exam period, parents were not present at the event. The dedication service concluded with a sense of unity and purpose as the candidates prepared to embark on their academic journey.
