The Butere sub-county police commandant Julius Kimket has assured the residents of Shitsitswi that justice will be served following the road accident that claimed the life of a form three student on Tuesday morning.
Speaking to GGTV Kimket said that the driver of the truck belonging to Kabras Sugar Millers was arrested after the accident that claimed the life of seventeen-year-old William Bwire on Tuesday, September 10, 2024.
The assurance came as the ACK diocese of Butere administrative secretary Rev. Canon Silas Hopillo visited the Shitsitswi Secondary School where he met the principal Joseph Inganga and the father of the deceased James Okoli Bwire to pray for them.
He passed his condolences to the family on behalf of bishop Rose Okeno while encouraging them to trust in the Lord during difficult times and tribulations.
Bwire who hails from a family of nine children died on the spot after he was knocked while on a bicycle by the truck that ran over him when on his way to the school as his fellow student escaped unhurt.
The late is expected to be laid to rest on Thursday, September 19, 2024, at his home at Emukowa village, Marama Central ward, Butere sub-county.
