- PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Butere Community Development Trust is a social response program owned and managed by Ack Diocese of Butere, in partnership with Five Talents.
The program was established in 2018 under the Diocese of Butere as BUCODET. Early 2019 the Dioceses of Mumias and Maseno North joined the program and gave it a new face, it was then WECODET was birthed.
BUCODET seeks to bring together small groups of Christians within the diocese to form savings and credit groups that are on trust. Christians can form the groups within a parish, a church or even an Estate in the Anglican structure. BUCODET undertakes to build the capacity of these groups to grow.

b) PROGRAM MISSION.
Hope and Transformation through Economic Empowerment.
- OUR WORK
At BUCODET, we are involved in providing rural communities with access to business skills, financial literacy training alongside access to a safe place to save and borrow loans. In doing so, we aim to support households to grow their businesses/Agriculture they depend on, increase their incomes and reduce levels of poverty. The groups that BUCODET work with are savings-led within the church set up. This can only be achieved through the support from the BUCODET board members, Butere community and the program patron (Bishop).
