Bishop’s Message during the official opening of the Diocesan Youth Conference.

“In John 15:4, which serves as the theme of our conference, we gain insight into the significance of surrendering to God’s power to enable spiritual life, obedience, and perseverance. Obedience to God’s will is vital, and we must persevere through challenges and obstacles. Just like Joseph and Mary, who endured gossip, mockery, and stigma, they faithfully obeyed God’s plan for their lives and for the world.

To bear fruit in life, we must first be connected to the source of life, Jesus Christ, the true vine. Our closeness to our spiritual life-giver directly impacts our effectiveness and productivity. Our attitudes and behavior are significant, as we will one day stand before God to give an account of our lives. When we bear good fruit, our Father in Heaven is glorified, for just as a branch draws its life from the vine, we draw our strength from Him.

May our lives be marked by lasting fruit, which comes through obedience to the Word of God. As we follow His guidance and walk in His ways, our lives will be fruitful, leaving a lasting impact on the world around us.

With sincere blessings and insights,
The Rt. Rev. Rose Okeno”
